AJ Potter
My name is AJ Potter and I own Potter Automotive located in Clover, South Carolina. I am married with two children and have a degree in Automotive Technologies. I started my professional automotive career in 2007 and have been in an automotive shop in some capacity since. Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, my wife and I moved to the Carolinas in 2015. Shortly after moving here, we found our church home at New River Church located in Lake Wylie, South Carolina. The people there very quickly became family and a support system for us. In 2019 we felt the call to start an automotive repair facility in the community and listened. The journey has been anything but easy from day one. Even with my years of experience in the automotive field as a master certified technician, there are things that being a technician just doesn’t prepare you for to be a business owner. My wife and I have surrounded ourselves with people smarter than us and listened to and implemented a lot of the recommendations we have run across and put our own personal twist on it to make it ours. Our focus has always been providing an experience that makes our clients and employees feel like family while making sure we are always giving back and supporting the community outside of the clients that walk into our repair facility. Technology is a major love of ours which is what sets us apart from a lot of other repair facilities in both our abilities and the experience our clients receive. In my very limited downtime, I love spending as much time as I can with my family which includes my biological family, my brothers and sisters from church, and my employees too. I also spend as much time as I can volunteering at my church and I love getting out on the lake doing anything from cruising or fishing to water sports. I also really enjoy trout fishing where I can disconnect and just be in nature with God and the people who came with me. Most evenings though you will find me in my home with my family eating a homemade dinner, discussing our day or relaxing around a good movie and a good craft beer.
Billie Potter
My name is Billie Potter and I do a lot of behind the scenes work for Potter Automotive. I was born and raised in a small town in Ohio. AJ and I have been together since we were in high school and have been married since 2006. I never imagined we would be where we are today…but GOD! We have two fantastic girls who keep me busy. I have been serving at New River Church since 2016, primarily with the 3-5 year old age group. I love gardening, being outdoors, and any body of water. The Ocean, water falls, lake, any and all of it just bring me peace. I find wildlife fascinating and will never turn down a chance to snuggle an animal when presented with an opportunity.
Brian Williams
My name is Bryan Williams. Born and raised in Rock Hill, South Carolina. I married the love of my life, Amber, in 2012. We now have two boys, Ethan and Owen. I attended York Tech but transitioned to the automotive field instead. That was 16 years ago when I joined a local auction house where we would take in and repair vehicles before auctions. It was an easy transition for me as I spent many of my younger years doing repairs with my grandpa on his vehicles. Through the years, I have spent a lot of time serving people at my church, Eastside Baptist Church in Rockhill, where I developed a love for serving and helping people. That love then poured over into my career, so over time I transitioned from just managing the repairs to where I am now, an ASE certified Service Manager with Potter Automotive where I get to manage the repairs, workflow, and take care of our clients’ needs! The team here at Potter Automotive is truly a family where we are constantly growing ourselves personally and professionally. A family with one goal, giving our customers an experience they deserve but won’t receive anywhere else. In my free time, I love watching both of my boys playing travel soccer, (which has us on the run all the time, lol) reading books, and spontaneous trips to the mountains!
Ryan Lenhoff
My name is Ryan Lenhoff. I was born in Dayton, Ohio and moved to South Carolina with my family at the age of 12. I have lived here ever since. I have one son named Gavin who is my world! I found my love for the automotive field in my younger years building my first car with my dad from the ground up, sure do miss that Honda CRX! Once I finished high school, I went to college and got a degree in Automotive Technologies in 2011. That same year, I started my professional career as an automotive technician. I have been turning wrenches in the aftermarket world ever since. I enjoy the aftermarket world as it allows me the opportunity to work on a vast variety of vehicles and keeps me sharp as a technician across multiple makes. Along the way I have gotten ASE certified as well! Today I work for Potter Automotive, and it has been the best place I have ever worked! The way the owner listens to our concerns as employees and pushes us to be the best we can be while supporting us along the way. Working in this family atmosphere makes work enjoyable and has really helped me in so many ways both professionally and personally. When I am not at work, you can find me playing video games, go-karting (yup I want to go fast!) or at a bowling/arcade establishment and when possible, my son is with me.
Kevin Gibson
My name is Kevin Gibson. Born and raised right here in Clover, South Carolina. I have two daughters Paislee and Porter that are my reason for getting out of bed every day. I am also dating an amazing woman named Amie, who keeps me as grounded as anyone can, lol. Truly, I would be lost without her. Growing up, my dad and I were always racing RC cars, so naturally as I got older, I was interested in racing. So, I took some classes in high school around the automotive field and was just blown away by some of the tools that I had never seen designed to help make our jobs easier. I’m not sure how that turned me to wanting to be a technician exactly, but the next thing I knew I was looking for an automotive school. I ended up attending NASCAR Technical Institute and was intending on becoming a BMW technician. However, at the end of my schooling I interviewed with Mercedes and switched to them. Got sent to Orlando, Florida for their Mercedes ELITE Program training and spent the next 19 years as a Mercedes Technician. I then spent a brief stint with a local foreign cars repair shop before finding Potter Automotive. The move to the aftermarket obviously had its challenges for me, but I was ready for a change in atmosphere and being closer to home allows me to spend more time with my family instead of stuck in traffic. I can now say it was the best move for me professionally and personally. Working for a Christian company, that treats their customers and employees the way you would think a Christian company should, has been refreshing for me and brought me back to a place where I look forward to walking in the doors at work. In my downtime, I enjoy spending time with my family, drifting cars (on a racetrack of course), racing anything I can from cars to go-karts, and watching college football.
